E-Vehicle Permits for Campus
E-Vehicle Permits required on Campus (for all E-Vehicles and E-Scooters)
As of August 2024, all TUSD school schools will require students to obtain an E-Vehicle permit. The use of electric vehicles (E-vehicles) is subject to specific guidelines aimed at ensuring safety and accountability. To ride an E-vehicle to school and park on campus, students and their parents or guardians are required to attend an E-Vehicle Safety Presentation facilitated by the Tustin Unified School District and local law enforcement agencies. The purpose is to educate students and families about the laws that pertain to E-Vehicles. Once a student attends the presentation they are able to purchase a permit for $5, in order to park their E-vehicle on campus. The permit must be displayed on the E-Vehicle in a visible location. Permits can be purchased in the Orchard Hills front office.
The campus parking lot adheres to a speed limit of 5 MPH. Engaging in reckless driving of eBicycles or exceeding the speed limit may result in the revocation of parking privileges. Activities such as riding inside the gates, on blacktops, fields, or tracks, riding doubles, and performing wheelies are strictly prohibited.
The school assumes no responsibility for the security of E-vehicles, and there are no provisions for charging E-vehicles on campus. In cases of theft or collision, students are advised to promptly contact their local law enforcement agency.
Unauthorized activities, including the transfer or exchange of permits without proper authorization, as well as providing transportation without permission, will lead to the loss of privileges. It is strongly emphasized that students adhere to these regulations to uphold a safe and orderly campus environment. Compliance with these guidelines contributes to the overall well-being and organization of the school community.
E-Vehicle Safety Nights will occur in August and September. Dates and times are currently TBD. Flyers with specific information will be sent to our Parent Community via Parent Square in August 2025.
